The suitability of using generalized linear models for analyzing kilometrage and accident data is demonstrated. Compared to other statistical methods, such models have the great advantage that effects which act simultaneously in reality can be incorporated into the model such that they also act simultaneously in the model. With respect to classical linear models, the generalized linear models are much more flexible due to the more general model assumptions.
