A new method is presented for simulation of both linear and nonlinear systems. This method is based on the Tust in transformation for linear systems. The simulation of linear systems is extremely accurate, as is the simulation of nonlinear systems. The accuracy of the latter is demonstrated by examining specific cases, including systems governed by Rayleigh's equation and van der Pol's equation. A system containing hysteresis in the feedback loop is simulated as an example. The method applies to systems governed by ordinary differential equations and which may contain highly nonlinear terms and elements. The solutions lag the inputs by one-half the sampling period, but the simplicity of the method permits significantly increased sample rates suitable for real-time simulation. (Kursetz)
