For pt.V see ibid., vol.AES-22, no.2, p.255 (1986). A brief explanation and trial results of experimental equipment for field trials using the Japanese Sakura experimental communications satellite (CS) are given. Synchronization characteristics and the bit error probability for time-division multiple-access (TDMA) systems for the CS satellite link were experimentally investigated. Also, a space-diversity switching scheme experiment and results obtained from the simulational experiments, carried out to confirm the required function of the satellite switched, time division multiple access (SS-TDMA) system, are described.
