ARBAT, an acronym for Application of Radar to Ballistic Acceptance Testing of ammunition, is a U.S. Army program for a range instrumentation radar system that provides ballistic test information which, until the present time, was not accurately measured or was not available at all. The program was initiated by a study to investigate various ballistic testing alternatives and propose the best system approach based on Government test requirements.
