The primary purpose of this projectis to develop a lateral autopilot for wing leveling. A tilted rate sensor was used to sense the orientation of the airplane with respect to the longitudinal axis through a series of mechanical and electrical signals. This system is capable of restoring the airplane's steady and level flight trim values through a closed loop feed back system. The lateral autopilot system consists of a lfuidic inertial rate sensor, electrical signal processing circuitry, and electric operated servors. The results obtained through a series of computer simulations indicated that the performance of the system was reliable with a very short response time.
