In our earlier work we showed the results of computational analysis of the problem with the finite element method and compared them with the simplified one dimensional model of the SLIM. In this paper are given the experimental studies for forces and moments with a stand-still SLIM test equipment. Their characteristics are measured for different secondary plates, supply frequencies, airgap lengths and declined arrangements. The operation with the constant translation velocity is also simulated in the experiments, by which the flux distribution along the length of the stator core is synthesized with non-unifor winding connection. These results are compared with theoretical analysis and the analytical expressions for them are considered. Forces acting on the stator of a SLIM is studied with stand still test equipments. The influences of transversal and rotational displacement is given for three kinds of secondary plate. The results should be taken into account in the study of the dynamic motion of a maglev vehicle. The experimental data is analysed with a one-dimensional model of the linear induction motor and the perturbation solution is considered to be enough for the analysis of the problem. Numerical calculation based on these models show the effect is not negligible in the neighbourhood of normal operation and coordinate control between speed and gap would be nescessary.
