Abstract As both the written papers and the edited versions of the panel discussions show, a considerable number of issues were raised during this ASI. It is difficult to summarise these on a few pages if one wants to do more than just enumerate them. And to do them all justice could easily produce a small book of its own. The solution chosen here is to discuss three of the main issues in some detail. The choice reflects the opinion of the three ASI directors and should not be seen as the opinion of the ASI participants as a whole. We are, however, convinced that these issues would rank among the most important on anybody’s list even though they might not be the top three ones.
