Analyzing Scientific Publications on Costa Concordia Accident: Towards an Integrative Understanding

In the ten years that have passed since the Costa Concordia accident off the coast of the island of Gilia, many scientific papers have been published devoted to finding the causes and considering the consequences of the incident. In this article, we tried to summarize the preliminary results of this scientific work in order to identify its general orientation towards gaining an integrative understanding of the meaning of this event. Statistical data served us as an empirical basis for philosophical generalizations regarding a specific combination of subjective factors and objective circumstances, which is denoted by the term organizational zemblanity, which we have interrupted from one of the publications. We hope that the negative experience of organizational zemblanity will eventually be replaced by a positive practice of professional serendipity, when the navigator's mission will be restored to its former dignity and respect.
