In general, a WPT system for EVs is composed of two separate parts: primary and secondary sides, as shown in Fig. 2.1. The primary side is composed of an AC/DC power source, a primary power converter, primary compensators, a primary controller, and a transmitting device such as a coil (for inductive power transfer) or metal plate (for capacitive power transfer).
