Abstract This paper is concerned with the problem of time-minimal null-controllability of vibrating systems described by an abstract wave equation via distributed controls of bounded L2-norm. For the approximate solution of this problem Galerkin's method is applied and numerically demonstrated for the problem of time-minimal null-control of a rectangular vibrating plate.
