Efforts concern the study, analysis, and evaluation of selected satellite navigation techniques for the purpose of determining the most appropriate of these techniques to be utilized as a tactical satellite navigation system for Army aircraft. The selected approach will be used to provide accurate and continuous position information to an unlimited number of aircraft; during all hours of the day or night; under adverse weather conditions; and will generally be applicable to all locations throughout the world. Specifically, this report discusses the progress and results achieved under Phase I, Development of Data Base, Requirements, and Criteria Model and Phase II, Preliminary Analysis and Evaluation of Candidate Systems. Phase I was scheduled for completion and was completed during the first quarter. Phase II is scheduled for completion at the end of the fourth month.
