The Maritime Administration (Marad) has determined that there is a need for an up-to-date compilation of maritime laws. In 1995, Marad published the first edition of 'Compilation of Maritime Law' (Compilation). It was well received by various government agencies, the U.S. Congress, and the public, including members of the maritime bar and community. In response to numerous requests, the Compilation has been published annually since then. Interest in the Compilation continues, and the author is pleased to present the fifth edition of this publication setting forth certain maritime laws through the 1st Session of the 106th Congress.
