The objective of this research was to develop methods of minimizing or alleviating bird hazards to aircraft operation at or near airports. The research program included the following investigations: problem analysis; population studies of problem species; the responses of birds to various stimuli; and the development and evaluation of bird population reduction methods. Other program activities included liaison with foreign research workers and technical assistance to Federal agencies and airport managements seeking advice on bird hazard problems.
