The purpose of this test was to evaluate the accuracy of the AN/USQ-35 (BIDOPS) Non-Cooperative Scoring System installation in the William Tell 1965 configured TDU-9/B aerial tow target. The accuracy data were obtained by conducting 21 firing missions over a precision ground optics range. Both infrared and radar guided missiles were launched from interceptor aircraft at altitudes from 11,000 to 13,800 feet MSL. The effective scoring range established for this BIDOPS/TDU-9/B target configuration was 0 to 20 feet. For all scores recorded by both optics and BIDOPS, BIDOPS was within + or -4 feet of the optical instrumentation used as a standard.
