The report summarizes an investigation of the sound and structural vibration levels resulting from operations of both supersonic (SST) and conventional subsonic jet aircraft. The study first analyzes the potential differences in noisiness between SST and conventional aircraft, knowing only the sound pressure spectra. Next, results of monitored SST and conventional aircraft flights conducted at Fairbanks, Alaska, International Airport on February 11-15, 1974, are reported. These results test the hypothesis put forth in the analytical portion of the report. Portions of this document are not fully legible.
