Railway operations have been discontinued in the Houston Belt and Terminal corridor which traverses southeast Houston and the Texas Southern University campus. The local transit authority has had several rail alternatives proposed for the corridor. While transit development of the railroad corridor would be expected to improve mobility in near southeast Houston, little effort had been focused on the range of options available for the corridor to the affect the alternatives would have on the Texas Southern University campus. The study focuses on the assessment of four basic alternatives from the perspective of advantage and utility to the Texas Southern community.
