Heavy haul train braking is the key issue of heavy haul train transportation safety. Monitoring the train braking in advance to ensure the normal operation of the braking device has an important impact on the good operation of the freight train. Aiming at the train braking condition monitoring, this paper designs a set of intelligent monitoring system for braking performance of heavy-duty railway freight cars, introduces the types of train braking faults, and puts forward the heavy-duty vehicle braking intelligent monitoring system, which can collect the braking pressure data of vehicle key points, transmit it to the ground through 5G network for analysis, and monitor the braking condition of freight cars. The preliminary test shows that the device meets the expected design requirements and provides a new method for freight cars braking monitoring.
