As the population grows, so does the number of vehicles on the road, causing traffic congestion, increased travel time, increased fuel use at Fixed Traffic Light System (FTLS) and a slew of other issues. Intelligent Transport System (ITS) is a technology that aids in the resolution of existing problems. Taking Intelligent Transport System (ITS) into consideration, this research study has proposed a novel system by combining the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID), Global Position System (GPS) and a video camera to assist the enhancement and expansion of ITS. When it comes to ITS most people think of Emergency Vehicles (EVs), traffic congestion, and lane-changing systems, but they overlook the fact that there are still some issues that impede the growth and improvement of the technology. Therefore, the work done in this paper reduces the average waiting time as compared to FTLS which helps to reduce congestion in metropolitan cities. The proposed model provides maximum accuracy and offer aids in the reduction of traffic congestion, average delay time, fewer halt at intersections, real-time smart parking system, collision avoidance, vehicle to vehicle (V-2-X) communication, and more efficient solutions. This paper presents a more efficient, optimised, cheaper and easy to use system that can help in solving out the problems that persist in the existing system and appears in real life scenarios.
