A belt wave drive transmission system and method are shown involving a first rotor (10) having a first drum configured to rotate about its axis of rotation and a second rotor (20) having a second drum configured to rotate about its axis of rotation, where the first rotor (10) is constrained to orbit concentrically about the axis of rotation of the second drum. A belt (30) encircles the first and second drums to couple the first (10) and second (20) rotors such that the first rotor (10) moves concentrically around the second rotor (20) as the belt (30) advances about a circumference of the second drum. In further refinements, the system and method involve electrically controllably coupling at least one of the first and second rotors to the belt.
Système et procédé de transmission par entraînement d'onde par courroie impliquant un premier rotor (10) possédant un premier tambour conçu pour tourner sur son axe de rotation et un second rotor (20) possédant un second tambour conçu pour tourner sur son axe de rotation, où le premier rotor (10) est contraint de tourner en orbite de manière concentrique autour de l'axe de rotation du second tambour. Une courroie (30) encercle les premier et second tambours pour accoupler les premier (10) et second (20) rotors de telle sorte que le premier rotor (10) se déplace de manière concentrique autour du second rotor (20) quand la courroie (30) avance autour d'une circonférence du second tambour. Selon d'autres améliorations, le système et le procédé impliquent l'accouplement électrique commandé d'au moins un des premier et second rotors à la courroie.
