The present invention relates to technology of allowing or prohibiting switching operation of a driving mode according to a driving state of a vehicle to improve behavior and driving safety of the vehicle and increasing durability performance of a vehicle component. Disclosed are a method and a system for controlling switching of the driving mode of a four-wheel independent steering vehicle, and a switching device thereof. The method detects signals capable of checking a steering state and a moving state of the vehicle when switching the driving mode into one driving mode among a diagonal moving mode, a parallel moving mode, and an in-place rotary mode, allows switching of the diagonal moving mode, the parallel moving mode, and the in-place rotary mode when the signals satisfy a driving mode switching condition, and independently performs four-wheel steering according to the driving mode allowing switching during steering of a steering wheel.
본 발명은 차량의 주행상태에 따라 주행모드의 전환작동을 허용 또는 금지하여 차량의 거동 및 주행 안전성을 향상시키는 한편, 차량 부품의 내구성능을 높이는 기술에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에서는, 주행모드를 이전 주행모드에서 대각이동모드, 평행이동모드, 제자리회전모드 중 하나의 주행모드로 전환시, 차량의 조향상태와 이동상태를 확인 가능한 신호들을 검출하고; 상기 신호들이 주행모드전환조건을 만족하는 경우, 대각이동모드, 평행이동모드, 제자리회전모드의 전환을 허용하며; 조향휠의 조향시, 전환이 허용된 해당 주행모드에 따라 4륜의 조향을 독립적으로 수행하는 것을 특징으로 하는 4륜 독립조향 차량의 주행모드 전환 제어방법과 시스템 및 그 전환기구가 소개된다.
