According to the present invention, disclosed are a device and a method for estimating a position of an automatic valet parking system. The device for estimating a position of an automatic valet parking system of the present invention includes: a front camera processing unit that processes a front image of a vehicle; a surround view monitor (SVM) processing unit that processes a surround view image of the vehicle to recognize nearby lanes and stop lines; a map data unit that stores high-precision maps; and a control unit that downloads a map of an area set as a parking area from the map data unit when it is confirmed that the vehicle has entered a parking lot, and corrects a vehicle position measurement value by performing map matching based on the recognition processing result of the front camera processing unit and the SVM processing unit and the parking lot map of the map data unit when the SVM processing unit recognizes the starting position of automated valet parking (AVP) through the recognized near lanes and stop lines.
본 발명은 자동 발렛 파킹 시스템의 위치 추정 장치 및 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명의 자동 발렛 파킹 시스템의 위치 추정 장치 및 방법은, 차량의 전방 영상을 처리하는 전방카메라 처리부; 차량의 서라운드 뷰 영상을 처리하여 근거리 차선 및 정지선을 인식하는 SVM(Surround View Monitor) 처리부; 고정밀 지도를 저장하는 지도데이터부; 및 차량의 주차장 진입이 확인되면 지도데이터부로부터 주차구역으로 설정된 영역의 지도를 다운로드하고, SVM 처리부에서 인식된 근거리 차선 및 정지선을 통해 자동 발렛 파킹(AVP, Automated Valet Parking) 시작 위치를 인지하면, 전방카메라 처리부 및 SVM 처리부의 인식 처리 결과와 지도데이터부의 주차장 지도에 기초하여 맵 매칭을 수행함으로써 차량의 위치 측정값을 보정하는 제어부;를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
