The present invention relates to a method for signaling the driving intention of an autonomous vehicle. The method includes the following steps in which a driving intention signaling device: (a) detects a pedestrian in front of the autonomous vehicle by using a surrounding video image and determines whether or not the pedestrian crosswalks by using a virtual crosswalk; (b) when it is determined that the pedestrian crosswalks, predicts a crosswalking trajectory corresponding to a predicted path of the pedestrian by referring to the moving trajectory of the specific pedestrian, sets a driving plan of the autonomous vehicle by referring to the crosswalking trajectory and driving information, and causes the autonomous vehicle to perform autonomous driving in accordance with the driving plan; and (c) determines whether or not the specific pedestrian pays attention to the autonomous vehicle by referring to a gaze pattern and, otherwise, causes the driving intention to be sent to the pedestrian and a nearby driver through an external display and an external speaker.

    본 발명은 자율 주행 자동차의 주행 의도(Driving Intention)를 시그널링(Signaling)하는 방법에 있어서, 주행 의도 시그널링 장치(Driving Intention Signaling Device)가, (a) 주변 영상 이미지(Surrounding Video Image)를 이용하여 자율 주행 자동차 전방에 위치하는 보행자를 검출하고, 가상 횡단보도(Virtual Crosswalk)를 이용하여 보행자가 도로를 횡단하는지 여부를 판단하는 단계; (b) 보행자가 도로를 횡단하는 것으로 판단되면, 특정 보행자의 이동 궤적(Moving Trajectory)을 참조하여 보행자의 예상 경로에 대응되는 횡단 궤적(Crosswalking Trajectory)을 예측하고, 주행 정보와 횡단 궤적을 참조하여 자율 주행 자동차의 주행 플랜(Driving Plan)을 설정하고, 주행 플랜에 따라 자율 주행 자동차가 자율 주행하도록 하는 단계; 및 (c) 시선 패턴(Gaze Pattern)을 참조하여, 특정 보행자가 자율 주행 자동차에 주의하고 있는지를 판단하고, 그렇지 않다면 외부 디스플레이 및 외부 스피커를 통해 상기 주행 의도가 보행자 및 주변 운전자에게 전달되도록 하는 단계;를 포함하는 방법을 제공한다.
