Disclosed is an air conditioner for a vehicle, which can reduce ventilation resistance and secure a sufficient cross-sectional area of an air outlet to prevent deterioration in air volume. The air conditioner comprises: an air conditioning case having an air passage formed therein and a plurality of air outlets formed at an outlet thereof; and at least one heat exchanger disposed in the air passage of the air conditioning case to exchange heat with air passing through the air passage. The air outlet has a center vent for discharging air-conditioned wind toward the center of a vehicle width and a side vent for discharging the air-conditioned wind toward the side of the vehicle width, wherein one of the center vent and the side vent is arranged on an upper side of the air conditioning case, and the other is arranged in one side of the air conditioning case in a back-and-forth direction of the vehicle.
통기 저항을 개선하면서도 공기 토출구의 단면적을 충분히 확보하여 풍량의 저하를 방지할 수 있는 차량용 공조장치가 개시된다. 차량용 공조장치는 내부에 공기통로가 형성되고 출구에 복수개의 공기 토출구가 형성된 공조케이스와, 상기 공조케이스의 공기통로에 구비되어 이를 통과하는 공기와 열교환하는 적어도 하나의 열교환기를 포함하는 것으로서, 상기 공기 토출구는 공조풍을 차량 폭 방향 센터 측으로 토출하기 위한 센터 벤트와 공조풍을 차량 폭 방향 사이드 측으로 토출하기 위한 사이드 벤트를 구비하고, 상기 센터 벤트와 사이드 벤트 중 하나는 공조케이스의 상면에 배치되며, 다른 하나는 차량 전후 방향으로 공조케이스의 일면에 배치된다.
