A head-up display device for a vehicle including a combiner for providing an image and a shutter for protecting the combiner and a control method thereof are provided. The head-up display device for a vehicle includes a housing including guide plates constituting both sides and mounted on a dashboard of the vehicle, a display disposed inside the housing and provided to generate the image, a mirror disposed to face the display and reflecting the image provided from the display, and a combiner module including the combiner provided to provide the image reflected from the mirror to a driver and ascending and descending from the housing, a shutter module including the shutter provided on the upper side of the housing to open and close the combiner by sliding, and an operating device disposed inside the housing to drive the sliding of the shutter and the ascending and descending of the combiner module by interoperating. Accordingly, the present invention can control the height of the combiner and prevent dust from being inputted to the combiner.
영상을 제공하는 컴바이너와 컴바이너를 보호하는 셔터를 포함하는 차량용 헤드업디스플레이장치 및 그 제어방법을 제공한다. 양 측면을 구성하는 가이드플레이트를 포함하고 차량의 대시보드에 장착되는 하우징, 하우징의 내부에 배치되고, 영상을 생성하도록 마련되는 디스플레이, 디스플레이와 대향하도록 배치되어 디스플레이에서 제공되는 영상을 반사시키는 미러, 미러로부터 반사된 영상을 운전자에게 제공하도록 마련되는 컴바이너를 포함하고, 하우징으로부터 승 하강하도록 구성되는 컴바이너모듈, 컴바이너를 슬라이딩하여 개폐하도록 하우징의 상부에 마련되는 셔터를 포함하는 셔터모듈 및 컴바이너모듈의 승 하강 및 셔터의 슬라이딩을 연동시켜 구동할 수 있도록 하우징의 내부에 배치되는 가동장치를 포함한다.
