The present invention relates to a method to optimally place a gas fuel tank of a container vessel by using an open partition, and a vessel applying the same. A container vessel, storing a number of containers, comprises a fuel tank placed in a lower part of a deck house of the vessel; an independent gas fuel tank installed in the center of the fuel tank to store gas fuel; a liquid fuel tank placed outside the gas fuel tank and storing liquid fuel; and an FGS room placed in a space in a lower part of the deck house and an upper part of the gas fuel tank and supplying the fuel to an engine. A space in a rear part of the liquid fuel tank is able to be used as a container loading zone except for the gas fuel tank. According to the formation, the containers are able to be loaded into a rear part of the fuel tank and the half of a central container hold except for a space in which the fuel tank is placed, and therefore, the efficiency of sailing is maximized. A water seal partition is installed because the fuel tank needs to be partially charged considering a sailing condition, and therefore, a sloshing phenomenon is reduced and the utilization of sailing is improved. Moreover, a swash bulkhead is installed in a transverse direction just in case. The present invention is a single fuel tank to be conveniently installed and manufactured, and since width and length are sufficiently secured as compared to the tank, an independent tank is easily supported against outer waves.
