Disclosed in the present invention is an air conditioner for a vehicle, which can continuously maintain sterilization and deodorization performance by sterilizing and deodorizing an evaporator as well as purifying air flowing into a case of an air conditioner and by efficiently radiating heat generated from a photocatalytic module. The air conditioner for a vehicle comprises: an air conditioner case where an air inlet is formed at an inlet side, an air outlet is formed at an outlet side, and an air passage is formed therein; an evaporator which is installed in the air passage of the air conditioner case; and a blowing fan which blows air inside the air conditioner case. In addition, a photocatalytic module is included inside the air conditioner case. The photocatalytic module comprises: a catalyst unit which generates hyperoxidation radicals by causing a photocatalytic reaction using irradiated light, and is placed to supply the generated hyperoxidation radicals to the air passage inside the air conditioner case; at least one light source unit which radiates ultraviolet rays (UV) toward the catalyst unit; and a heat radiating unit which is placed at one side of the light source unit in order to radiate heat generated from the light source unit. Therefore, the air conditioner can remove fundamental causes of foul odor by sterilizing various contaminants and microorganisms on the surface of the evaporator, can maintain a pleasant indoor air environment of a vehicle by controlling the propagation of bacteria through remnant photocatalytic radicals, and can maintain deodorization and sterilization functions at an optimum state by preventing overheat of the light source.

공조 케이스의 내부로 유입되는 공기를 정화함과 더불어 증발기를 살균 및 탈취하며, 광촉매 모듈에서 발생되는 열을 효율적으로 방열하여 살균 및 탈취 성능을 지속적으로 유지할 수 있는 차량용 공조장치가 개시된다. 차량용 공조장치는 입구측에 공기유입구가 형성되고 출구측에 공기토출구가 형성되며 내부에 공기 통로가 형성되는 공조 케이스와, 상기 공조 케이스의 공기 통로 상에 설치되는 증발기와, 상기 공조 케이스의 내부에 공기를 송풍하는 송풍장치를 포함하며, 상기 공조 케이스의 내부에 광촉매 모듈이 구비되고, 상기 광촉매 모듈은: 조사되는 광에 의해 광 촉매 반응을 일으켜 과산소 라디칼을 발생시키며, 발생된 과산소 라디칼을 상기 공조 케이스의 내부의 공기 유로로 공급하도록 배치되는 촉매부와, 상기 촉매부 측으로 자외선(UV) 광을 조사하는 적어도 하나의 광원부와, 상기 광원부의 일 측에 구비되어 광원부에서 발생되는 열을 방출하는 방열부를 포함한다. 따라서, 증발기 표면의 각종 오염물질 및 미생물들을 살균하여 악취의 근본 원인을 제거하며, 잔여 광촉매 라디칼로 인해 세균의 번식을 억제하여 쾌적한 차량 실내 공기 환경을 유지할 수 있으며, 광원의 과열을 막아 탈취 및 살균 기능을 최상으로 유지할 수 있다.
