The present invention relates to a method for processing an image and an apparatus therefor and, specifically, to a method for processing an image in a black box and an apparatus therefor, which are for protecting privacy. To achieve this, according to an embodiment of the present invention, a method for processing an image in a black box comprises steps of: recognizing at least one of a face, a license plate, and company names from a source image inputted from a camera; generating at least one mosaic for masking at least one of the face, the license plate, and the company names which are recognized; masking at least one of the face, the license plate, and the company names with the mosaic which is generated; storing the source image and encoding an image masked with the mosaic to be stored; and restoring the encoded image stored along an input of a secret code to the original source image.
본 발명은 영상 처리 방법 및 이를 위한 장치에 대한 것으로, 특히 사생활 보호를 위한 블랙 박스에서의 영상 처리 방법 및 이를 위한 장치에 대한 것이다. 상기 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 블랙 박스에서의 영상 처리 방법은 카메라로부터 입력된 소스 영상으로부터 얼굴, 번호판, 상호들 중 적어도 하나를 인식하는 단계, 상기 인식된 얼굴, 번호판, 상호들 중 적어도 하나를 마스킹하기 위한 적어도 하나의 모자이크를 생성하는 단계, 상기 적어도 하나의 얼굴, 번호판, 상호를 상기 생성된 모자이크로 마스킹하는 단계, 상기 소스 영상을 저장하거나 상기 모자이크가 마스킹된 영상을 암호화하여 저장하는 단계, 그리고, 암호 입력에 따라 상기 저장된 암호화된 영상을 원래 소스 영상으로 복원하는 단계를 포함하여 이루어진다.
