The present invention relates to a head-up display and a control method of the head-up display. The head-up display comprises: at least one graphic object; an image output unit which outputs an image obtained by coupling a background mask as at least one background of the graphic object; an optical system which includes at least one reflective mirror, and projects the image to the windshield of a vehicle through the reflective mirror; a camera which photographs a front image of the vehicle; and a control unit which acquires a background color of a display area in which at least one of the graphic object is displayed from the front image, and determines a mask color of an area overlapped with the at least one graphic object in the background mask on the basis of the background color.
헤드업 디스플레이 및 헤드업 디스플레이의 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 헤드업 디스플레이는, 적어도 하나의 그래픽 객체와, 상기 적어도 하나의 그래픽 객체의 배경이 되는 배경 마스크를 결합한 영상을 출력하는 영상 출력부, 적어도 하나의 반사거울을 포함하며, 상기 반사거울을 통해 차량의 윈드실드에 상기 영상을 투사하는 광학계, 상기 차량의 전방 영상을 촬영하는 카메라, 그리고 상기 전방 영상으로부터 상기 적어도 하나의 그래픽 객체가 표시되는 표시 영역의 배경 색상을 획득하며, 상기 배경 색상을 토대로 상기 배경 마스크에서 상기 적어도 하나의 그래픽 객체와 중첩되는 영역의 마스크 색상을 결정하는 제어부를 포함할 수 있다.
