This remote assistance device comprises: an acquisition unit that acquires, from a vehicle to be remotely controlled, video information representing video of the surroundings of the vehicle; a display unit that displays video to a remote driver on the basis of the video information acquired by the acquisition unit; a control information generation unit that receives operation input from the remote driver and periodically generates control information, which includes a control amount for controlling the vehicle, and that sends the generated control information to the vehicle; and a display control unit that performs control so as to display, in superimposition on the video displayed on the display unit, a support image which supports remote control by the remote driver and which includes at least an image representing the control amount at the time of video capture.
