PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external device for controlling an imaging device such that a ship being monitored is properly captured in an image when an imaging range is determined on the basis of AIS information.SOLUTION: An external device includes acquisition means for acquiring ship information for one or more ships, selection means for selecting a ship on the basis of the ship information acquired by the acquisition means, calculation means for calculating an imaging range including the ship selected by the selection means, and transmission means for transmitting a control command for controlling a changing unit on the basis of the imaging range calculated by the calculation means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
