To automatically create map information on a carrying route.SOLUTION: An automated carrying system comprises: a carrying route provided with markings; an automatic carrying vehicle that includes a frame to which a sensor is fastened and a motor which rotates wheels; and a control unit that includes a map information storing unit capable of storing map information on the carrying route, and a carriage control unit which determines a route on the basis of the map information and which controls the automatic carrying vehicle so as to run along the route. The control unit includes: a search control unit that causes the automatic carrying vehicle to execute a search operation for the carrying route; and a map information creating unit that creates the map information on the carrying route. The search control unit causes the automatic carrying vehicle to run on the carrying route while causing the sensor to detect the markings, detects the respective positions of intersections, and detects the respective positions of dead ends. The map information creating unit creates the map information on the carrying route on the basis of the respective positions of the intersections and of the respective positions of the dead ends, and stores the map information in the map information storing unit.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
