To accurately combine a plurality of maps.SOLUTION: A map generation device 50 comprises: a map generation section 17 which generate a map on the basis of travel history of a vehicle; a storage section 12 which stores first map information including positional information of a point group recognized on the basis of distant information to an object acquired through a first vehicle and second map information including positional information of a partition line recognized on the basis of image information acquired through a second vehicle; and a map information updating section 17b which updates at least either the first map information or the second map information so as to combine a first map and a second map. The map generation section 17 has a partition line recognition section 17a which recognizes a position of the partition line on the basis of the first map information. The map information updating section 17b updates at least either the first map information or the second map information so as to combine the first map and the second map on the basis of the positional information of the partition line recognized through the partition line recognition unit 17a and the positional information of the partition line included in the second map information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
