To provide an oil abnormality detection device capable of properly detecting abnormality of oil due to mixing of foreign matter such as metal powder into oil in a vehicle transmission.SOLUTION: An oil abnormality detection device for a vehicle transmission comprises: oil conductivity measurement means which measures at least electric conductivity of oil flowing in an oil path in the transmission; oil state calculation means which calculates data on a state of the oil including data on at least one of the number and size of foreign bodies included in the oil based upon the measured electric conductivity of the oil; travel distance measurement means which measures a travel distance of the vehicle; operation time measurement means which measures an operation time of the vehicle; and a transmission part which transmits the data from the vehicle to an external terminal device through a communication network. The transmission part transmits, as data for oil abnormality detection, the data on the state of the oil calculated by the oil state calculation means, the data on the travel distance of the vehicle, and the data on the operation time of the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7
