PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a relay diagnostic apparatus easily diagnosing the presence or absence of fixed-open abnormality and fixed-closure abnormality of a relay mounted on a vehicle: and to provide a relay diagnostic method.SOLUTION: In a relay diagnostic apparatus diagnosing failure of a relay mounted on a vehicle, the relay has a coil and a switch and the switch is driven to open or close a current path when electricity is conducted to the coil. The relay diagnostic apparatus includes: a relay control part instructing opening/closing operation of a switch; a relay driving part driving the switch according to the instruction of the opening/closing operation; a current detection part detecting a current value of current flowing through the coil; and an abnormal diagnosing part diagnosing the presence or absence of relay abnormality on the basis of whether or not any peculiar change in transition of the current value after a predetermined period of time has passed since the instruction of the opening/closing operation is output.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】車両に搭載されたリレーの開固着異常及び閉固着異常の有無を容易に診断し得るリレー診断装置及びリレー診断方法を提供する。【解決手段】車両に搭載されるリレーの故障を診断するリレー診断装置において、リレーは、コイル及びスイッチを有し、コイルが通電されると、スイッチが駆動して電流経路を開閉するリレー診断装置であって、スイッチの開閉動作を指示するリレー制御部と、開閉動作の指示に応じてスイッチを駆動するリレー駆動部と、コイルに流れる電流の電流値を検出する電流検出部と、開閉動作の指示が出力されてから所定時間が経過した後の電流値の推移に特異な変化があるか否かに基づいて、リレーの異常の有無を診断する異常診断部とを備える。【選択図】図１
