The invention provides a getting-off reminding system and method for people in the back row of an automobile. The system comprises a sensor assembly which is arranged at the tail of an automobile and used for sensing an infrared radiation source behind the automobile and the distance between the infrared radiation source and the automobile and forming a sensing signal; the image acquisition assembly is arranged at the tail part of the automobile and is used for acquiring an image of the infrared radiation source and forming an image signal; the reminding assembly is arranged in a rear-row vehicle of the automobile and can give out a warning action which is perceived by rear-row passengers; the control module is connected with the reminding assembly, the sensor assembly and the image acquisition assembly, and a warning strategy is preset in the control module; the control module is configured to receive the sensing signal and the image signal, compare the sensing signal and the image signal with a warning strategy, and send a working signal to the reminding assembly if the sensing signal and the image signal fall into a warning strategy range so that the reminding assembly can respond to the working signal. The warning device has the advantages that warning action is given out, traffic accidents are avoided, and the driving safety is improved.
