The method comprises the following steps: in response to a situation that a positioning error exceeds a preset error threshold value and a positioning confidence coefficient is lower than a preset confidence coefficient threshold value, judging whether a vehicle needs to change a lane or arrive at a road section with a real lane line within a preset time; if yes, an alarm signal is sent out; otherwise, calculating an error between the current position of the vehicle and the reference trajectory and a buffer area of the vehicle in the lane; and performing staged adjustment on the vehicle according to the error and the buffer area. According to the method, the transverse position of the vehicle is periodically adjusted according to the error between vehicle positioning and the track, the lane width, the vehicle body width and the reference track, so that the vehicle is gradually controlled to approach a buffer area or the track, and poor body feeling caused by excessive adjustment is avoided.
