The invention belongs to the technical field of unmanned vehicle suspension devices, and particularly relates to a lightweight upper cross arm of an unmanned vehicle and a manufacturing method thereof, the upper cross arm comprises a connecting plate, a lattice structure, a connecting rod and a connecting hole; the connecting plate is fixed to the upper portion of the suspension oil cylinder and used for transmitting wheel torque. The dot matrix interlayer is used for connecting the skin framework connecting rod structural bodies into a whole and meanwhile has the important function of transmitting loads. The connecting rod is used for transmitting the rotating torque of the axle load to the frame; the upper cross arm lattice model has the advantages of being high in specific strength, small in volume density and high in structural efficiency, through reasonable upper cross arm lattice model filling, the structural strength can be guaranteed, meanwhile, the structural lightweight level can be effectively improved, and the manufacturing cost and the structural weight can be controlled within a low range.
