According to the tower crane deformation monitoring device and monitoring method, impact force extrudes a supporting spring when a buffer rod is compressed inwards, so that connecting sleeves at the two ends of a supporting sliding rod are pushed to move relatively under hinging of a linkage rod, then the buffer springs at the two ends are pressed, the free ends of the pressed buffer springs extrude a deformation ring of a piezoresistive pressure sensor, and the deformation of the pressure sensor is monitored. And as the pressure borne by the buffer rod is increased, the abutting cylinder slides on the outer surface of the supporting sliding rod and then makes contact with and extrudes the deformation ring, and buffering and early warning of the tower body are completed.
