The invention relates to a control device and a control method of an electric vehicle. An ECU controls a vehicle having a power receiving unit capable of receiving power in a non-contact manner from a power supply device provided on a travel road. The ECU includes a memory that stores a user desired condition that a user of the vehicle desires to perform road power reception, and a processor that is connected to the memory, the road power reception being power reception from a power supply device provided on a traveling road. When a physical power supply condition from the power supply equipment to the vehicle is satisfied (step S12: YES) and a user desired condition stored in the memory is not satisfied (step S16: NO), the processor controls the power receiving unit so as to suppress road power reception (step S20).
