The invention discloses a driving system and method for a mine unmanned vehicle, relates to the field of unmanned driving, and aims to ensure the safety of the vehicle under an unmanned operation condition by adding a fault diagnosis system and a remote control driving system, and ensure the safety of the vehicle when an automatic driving calculation center and an environment sensing system fail. The vehicle can be remotely controlled to run to a safe area, and safe operation of the mine car in a mining area is guaranteed. The method comprises the following steps: a central gateway issues path information and task information corresponding to a target mine car to an automatic driving calculation center, and starts a fault diagnosis system, so that the fault diagnosis system performs driving fault diagnosis on the target mine car; after receiving the path information and the task information issued by the central gateway, the computing center requests a drive-by-wire chassis driving system corresponding to the target mine car to enter an unmanned driving state; and the calculation center drives the target mine car to run to a path end point indicated by the path information according to the drive-by-wire chassis driving system, and executes a task indicated by the task information.
