The invention provides an HUD system, a light source device for HUD and a vehicle, wherein the HUD system is small and can be manufactured at low cost. A head-up display device includes: an image display device for generating image light to be projected; an optical system that performs a predetermined correction on the video light from the video display device; and a concave mirror that reflects the image light corrected by the optical system and projects the image light onto the windshield or the combiner, the image display device including an illumination optical system and a display device, wherein the illumination optical system comprises a solid-state light source, a collimating optical system which converts light from the solid-state light source into substantially parallel light, and an optical member which deflects the direction of a light beam converted by the collimating optical system and expands the light beam at the same time, the image display device is disposed on the optical axis of the concave mirror so as to face the concave mirror with the optical system interposed therebetween.
