The invention relates to a device for adjusting the angle of an automobile steering column and improving retention. Comprising a locking pin, a first elastic piece, a locking piece, a cam disc and a second elastic piece, a through hole is formed in the middle of the locking piece, a sawtooth structure is arranged on one side face of the locking piece, a positioning block is connected to the side face of the cam disc, the first elastic piece is arranged on the locking pin in a sleeving mode, the locking pin penetrates through the through hole in the locking piece, and the locking pin is in clearance fit with the locking piece. The locking pin is fixedly connected with the positioning block, a clamping edge with a sawtooth structure is fixed on a side plate of a support assembly of the steering column, and the sawtooth structure on the side face of the locking piece is meshed with the clamping edge. And the second elastic piece is arranged on the cam disc and the outer tube bearing piece of the steering column. The side face of the cam disc is meshed with the clamping edges through the locking pieces, so that the size and the thickness of the locking pieces can be increased, the meshing force between the locking pieces is increased, and the retention force is improved.
