A flying vehicle (1) comprises: - a body (10) having a tail section (20); - a main rotor (100) having a rotation axis on top of the body; - a central thrust unit (200) arranged along the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, at a distance from the rotation axis of the main rotor; - a mounting support (40) on either side of the body; - a side thrust unit (400) mounted to each mounting support. The central thrust unit comprises a fan which provides air flow with a flow component perpendicular to a virtual vertical midplane of the vehicle. Each of said side thrust units comprises a fan which provides air flow with a flow component parallel to said virtual vertical midplane. At least one of said thrust units is provided with controllable air deflection means (420) to deflect the corresponding output air flow in a controllable manner.
