The invention relates to a method for hot-line work of an unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with insulated mechanical arms, and relates to the technical field of unmanned aerial vehicles. The unmanned aerial vehicle comprises an unmanned aerial vehicle body, and a first mechanical arm and a second mechanical arm which are arranged on the unmanned aerial vehicle body, wherein the first mechanical arm and the second mechanical arm are connected with clamping mechanisms used for clamping a lead respectively, and a shearing mechanism used for shearing the lead. The hot-line work method comprises the following steps of controlling the unmanned aerial vehicle to fly to a work area; controlling the first mechanical arm to drive the clamping mechanism to clamp the lead; and controlling the second mechanical arm to drive the shearing mechanism to shear off the lead. According to the method for the hot-line work of the unmanned aerial vehicle equipped with the insulated mechanical arms provided by the invention, an operator can realize a wire trimming operation only on the ground, the working efficiency is improved, a wider application range is provided for unmanned aerial vehicle hot-line work, and the effects of reducing the number of operators and being higher in safety are achieved.
