    The invention relates to the field of robots, in particular to a crawling robot and a control method thereof. The crawling robot comprises a first traveling mechanism and a second traveling mechanism; the first traveling mechanism comprises a first chassis and at least two first supporting leg sets, and the at least two first supporting leg sets are arranged in the traveling direction; the second advancing mechanism comprises a second chassis and at least two second supporting leg sets, and the at least two second supporting leg sets are arranged in the advancing direction; at least one first supporting leg set is located between every two adjacent second supporting leg sets, so that the at least two first supporting leg sets and the at least two second supporting leg sets are alternately arranged in the advancing direction; a driving device is used for driving the first chassis and the second chassis to relatively slide along the advancing direction; a detection device is mounted at the front end of the first chassis; and a controller is used for controlling the first advancing mechanism and the second advancing mechanism to advance alternately. The crawling robot can detect the fan blades so as to improve the detection efficiency.
