The invention discloses an airplane wheel gear positioning system and method. The system comprises a base station, a label and a data processing module which are arranged in each airplane wheel gear;each base station is used for allocating ID numbers to the label of the corresponding airplane wheel gear where the base station is located, positioning the airplane wheel gear, pairing with the labelof the other appointed airplane wheel gear, measuring the distance between the two airplane wheel gears, and sending positioning information and a distance value to the corresponding data processingmodule; all the base stations are in one-to-one correspondence with the labels; the labels are used for communicating with the base stations of the airplane wheel gears with the same ID number and measuring the distance; and the data processing modules are used for allocating the ID numbers to each base station, receiving the positioning information and the distance value sent by each base station, generating corresponding information and sending the information. According to the system and the method, the airplane wheel gears in the airport can be positioned, so that alarm reminding is performed on missing wheel gear placement and omitting wheel gear placement to reduce accidents.
