The invention provides a battery module and a battery pack assembly. The battery module comprises a shell, a plurality of battery cells arranged in the shell, an electric connecting plate connected with the battery cells and an upper cover covering the battery cells, and further comprises a thermal protection structure which is arranged between the battery cells and the upper cover, abuts againstthe battery cells and comprises a thermal insulation plate body, at least one protection thin plate is formed on the thermal insulation plate body, each protective thin plate corresponds to an explosion-proof valve of the battery cell, the thickness of the protective thin plate is smaller than a first set threshold and larger than a second set threshold, the first set threshold is the maximum thickness value suitable for hot air flow to pass through after thermal runaway of the battery cell, the hot air flow passes through the protection thin plate to obtain depressurized hot air flow, and thesecond set threshold is the maximum thickness value suitable for the depressurized hot air flow to pass through. The battery module is advantaged in that the thermal protection structure is arrangedto guide hot air flow sprayed out after thermal runaway of the battery cells to be sprayed out from the protection thin plate and prevent the hot air flow from returning to other battery cells throughother protection thin plates, and thermal convection and radiation of the hot air flow to the adjacent battery cells are blocked.

    本发明提供一种电池模组及电池包总成。电池模组包括壳体、设置于壳体内的多个电芯、与电芯连接的电连接板以及罩设于多个电芯上的上盖,还包括:热防护结构,设置于电芯与上盖之间且与电芯抵接,包括隔热板本体,其上成型有至少一个防护薄板;每个防护薄板均对应于电芯的防爆阀;防护薄板的厚度小于第一设定阈值且大于第二设定阈值;第一设定阈值为适于电芯热失控后热气流穿过的最大厚度值;该热气流穿过防护薄板后得到降压后热气流,第二设定阈值为适于降压后热气流穿过的最大厚度值。设置热防护结构,引导电芯热失控后喷出的热气流从防护薄板处喷出,并防止经其他防护薄板返回至其他电芯,阻断热气流对相邻电芯的热对流及辐射。
