The invention discloses a test method and apparatus for a train end, for overcoming the disadvantages of low train end wind pressure or air discharge testing efficiency and poor accuracy in the prior art. The method comprises the following steps: sending a wind pressure query or air discharge command; receiving response information in response to the wind pressure query or air discharge command; performing matching on the response information received within preset time, and taking the response information subjected to the matching as effective information; and according to the sending frequency of the wind pressure query or air discharge command and the quantity of the effective information, calculating a test success rate of the wind pressure query or air discharge command. According to the invention, the train end wind pressure query or air discharge success rate is calculated in real time according to the command sending frequency and the response information returned from the train end, the accuracy is high, and the operation is time-saving and labor-saving.
