The invention discloses a method and system improving mechanical type stereo garage stock handling capacity; the system comprises a center data server and at least one mechanical type stereo garage; the mechanical type stereo garage is connected with the center data server through the internet so as to real time exchange parking stall occupation related information in the mechanical type stereo garage; the center data server allows pre-engaged terminals to visit, so users (normally drivers) can carry out pre-engaged parking and taking operations through the pre-engaged terminals on a network end; the pre-engaged terminals and the center data server exchange information so as to realize the following functions: obtaining parking stall numbers and usage conditions of all mechanical type stereo garages; pre-engaging for parking cars; pre-engaging for taking cars.
