The invention discloses a gap lighting device for an escalator or a moving pavement. The gap lighting device comprises a truss provided with an upper horizontal section and a lower horizontal section, an upper fixing cross bar which is transversely arranged on the upper horizontal section, an upper lighting lamp body which is installed on the upper fixing cross bar and can send out green light, a lower fixing cross bar which is transversely arranged on the lower horizontal section and a lower lighting lamp body which is installed on the lower fixing cross bar and can send out the green light, the upper lighting lamp body is provided with clamping parts for clamping the upper fixing cross bar, and the lower lighting lamp body is provided with clamping parts for clamping the lower fixing cross bar. According to the gap lighting device for the escalator or the moving pavement, the lighting lamp bodies are arranged on the upper horizontal section and the lower horizontal section of the escalator or the moving pavement respectively, the green light is sent out from a gap between a comb plate and a stair to remind passengers safely to move from the motionless comb plate to the moving stair or a moving step plate, an alert effect is achieved, and therefore the safety of the escalator or the moving pavement is improved.
